If you’ve been following along and noticed it’s been a little quiet here, you’re not wrong. Life happened. And if you’re a parent of a child with special needs, you already understand exactly what that means without any explanation needed. Sometimes, advocacy, appointments, school communication, and just being there for our kids take every ounce of energy we have. And when that happens, some things pause, even the things we care deeply about.
This blog was one of them.
Why I Stepped Back (and Why That’s Okay) This space has always been about honesty. And the truth is: there are seasons where survival comes before sharing. Being both an educator and a parent to a child with special needs means constantly balancing:
• School responsibilities
• Meetings and planning
• Emotional energy
• Family needs And sometimes
The pause isn’t a failure; it’s necessary. If you’ve ever felt guilty for not keeping up with everything, I want you to know: you’re not alone, and you’re not doing anything wrong.
What Didn’t Change Even while I wasn’t writing, these things stayed the same:
• I’m still advocating every day
• I’m still learning constantly
• I’m still believing in my child fiercely
• I’m still committed to supporting parents walking this path.
This blog was never about posting perfectly or consistently. It was always about being real.
Why I’m Back Now: Stories still matter. Because parents still need support. Because no one should feel alone in this journey. And because sometimes, coming back imperfectly is more powerful than never stopping. This space is here to remind parents:
• You don’t have to do it all
• You don’t have to have it figured out
• You can pause and still keep going.
What’s Coming Next In the coming posts, I’ll be sharing:
• Real-life moments from both sides of the table
• Practical tools parents can actually use
• Encouragement for the days that feel heavy
• Honest conversations about progress, setbacks, and hope. No pressure. No perfection.Just support.
If You’re Still Here.
Thank You If you’re reading this after a quiet stretch, thank you for staying. And if you’re just finding this blog now, welcome. We’re all moving forward at our own pace. And that includes this space too.
Your Turn:
Have you ever had to step back from something important to breathe? I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Sometimes the most meaningful progress happens quietly.
